The Circle season 1 runner-up Shubham Goel returned as a catfish for the fifth season of Netflix’s popular series, but the fan-favorite couldn’t last long and was soon voted out. The Circle season 5 featured 13 contestants either participating from their real identities or opting to play as a catfish. These players make connections through the social media app called “The Circle.” One of the OG players, Shubham, decided to join the Circle group as a catfish named “Sasha.”

Netflix dropped the second half of episodes which featured two wild entries, Tasia Lesley playing Tamira and fan-favorite Shubham as Sasha. Shubham’s The Circle season 5 profile was allotted by the show, but later, he modified it as a 23-year-old single tech blogger. He tried to mix his personality with Sasha’s profile but failed to execute it successfully. Shubham’s awkward interaction with The Circle players caused him to lose the trust of the cast members, and influencers blocked him in the 8th episode.

How Shubham Goel Got Eliminated On The Circle Season 5
Viewers loved Shubham on The Circle season 1 as a socially awkward nerd trying to connect on the app. Due to fans’ love and his authentic game strategy, Shubham was brought again to make the game more interesting. His plan as a catfish backfired after he got caught up in an argument with top-influencer Chaz Lawery during the “Savage Question Round.” The contestants started to doubt Sasha’s profile which led to the influencers Tom Houghton and Chaz blocking her. The Circle viewers had high hopes for the former player Shubham, but fans were disappointed by his gameplay. “Shubham played this game awfully,” one fan @kimanialise Tweeted.
How Shubham Ruined His Second Chance On The Circle
The Circle’s most beloved player got fans excited as he returned for the brand-new season. Shubham’s minor mistakes ruined his game and became the reason for his eviction. The foremost error in his gameplay was not sticking to the alliance he made with Billie-Jean Blackett, aka Bruno. Shubham chose to block Bruno and saved Jennifer, which put him in a tough spot with fellow players. The contestants who were previously doubting Shubham’s profile as Sasha became more rigid in putting their trust in him. Later, Shubham’s attempt to plot newbies against original players through a “Newbies Revolution Chat” also failed terribly.
Shubham’s heated conversation with Chaz was the final nail in his coffin. Not only did he get eliminated for his bad game plan, but he also disappointed fans and let down their expectations. Shubham had the potential to turn the game around on The Circle, but he failed miserably. Shubham’s revelation about the “Newbies Revolution Chat” in his farewell message has led to the original players being at odds with new additions.
