Why I hardly do house chores for my wife’ – Deyemi Okanlawon opens up
Kemi Filani recalls that, Deyemi Okanlawon had revealed why he found it hard to assist his wife in the kitchen. The Prophetess star actor in an interview said, “I hardly do house chores because we have enough domestic support. But, I enjoy bathing my sons when I can. However, I can prepare ‘noodles a la carte’. That is about the only food I can cook.”
When asked the toughest role he has ever acted, the father of two lovely boys recalls, “So far, there have been three roles I have found almost equally taxing, albeit for different reasons. The first is acting as ‘Femi Stone’ in Funke Akindele and JJC’s movie, Omo Ghetto: The Saga. Not only because of the sheer scale of the production and the calibre of actors I was working with but it was the first time I was cast to play such a role and I thank the Scene One production team for providing all the support I needed. The second is the character, ‘Fogo Bombastic’ in Niyi Akinmolayan’s movie, The Prophetess, where I had to speak Yoruba. I had never done that before and I also had to eat raw pepper throughout the production. The third was acting as ‘Bayo Olaoluwa’ in Yewande Zacheus’ movie, The Wait, which was extremely emotional for me because my wife and I had faced the same issues in real life.”
