1000-lb Sisters’ Tammy Slaton has been quiet on Instagram. Many fans think she’s lying low because of the cruel comments she’s seen on IG this year.
1000-lb Sisters star Tammy Slaton hasn’t posted on Instagram in several months, and she may be avoiding the platform due to the disses she has been getting from fans in 2022. Viewers are eager for season 4 of the show, which would likely follow Tammy’s weight loss journey if she finally qualified for bariatric surgery. It will also follow Amy Slaton’s new family of four (if she returns to the series), as she is married to Michael Halterman, and now has two sons. Her youngest child, Gage Halterman, was born in July 2022. The sisters have come a long way since the start of the show, but viewers haven’t warmed up to Tammy. They take to social media to share their feelings about the reality star.
Tammy suffered a near-death experience in the 1000-lb Sisters season 3 finale, due to a health complication from contracting COVID back in season 2. She has been struggling to breathe ever since, and this is yet another roadblock to overcome before qualifying for weight loss surgery. Tammy has been using the “trach tube,” which makes it simpler to take breaths, and she has not been shy about showing it off on Instagram. One commenter at Tammy’s Instagram said, “Girl…..not sure why your posing with a tube in your throat. You’re grotesque.” This remark was made after she posted a series of seven pictures on IG back in March, where she showed her “trach tube.”

This is hardly the first time that Tammy has received harsh comments from 1000-lb Sisters fans, as she gets dissed on nearly every one of her 43 posts. When Tammy posted a video giving the peace sign, fans flooded to the comment section. One of Tammy’s IG followers said, “You look bigger. You need to stop this.” Another said, “I give her like 3 more months.” With nearly 370K followers on Instagram, many are following her to see if she makes progress on her weight loss journey. Some share their disappointment when she does not lose the weight.
Many fans comment on Tammy’s physical appearance, as she currently weighs around 650 pounds. Other fans call her out for her harsh personality on and off 1000-lb Sisters. On her most recent post from March 14, another of Tammy’s followers commented, “you’re being terrible at your sister,” and added that Tammy is, “just nasty and rude.” Many fans agreed, and another said, “I think you’re ridiculous. Getting mad at your family for trying to help you.” Tammy is known for losing her temper on the show, especially when her family tries to intervene in her troubled relationships.

Tammy’s siblings Amy and Chris Combs have both had successful weight loss journeys, and many fans think that Tammy takes her lack of progress out on them. While Tammy has gotten hundreds of mean disses on Instagram, she also has a large group of supporters. One fan cheered her on, telling her that she was doing well, and to ignore her critics. Fans are also posting on her currently inactive Instagram, looking for information about 1000-lb Sisters season 4. They can’t wait to find out how the whole family is doing now.
