Bachelor in Paradise star Sarah Herron excitedly announces she is expecting her first baby with fiancé Dylan Brown after a long journey.
Sarah Herron, former star of Bachelor in Paradise and The Bachelor, announced that she is expecting her first baby with fiancé Dylan Brown after a long fertility journey. Sarah, 35, got her start with Bachelor Nation on Sean Lowe’s season of The Bachelor in 2013, during which she received the first one-on-one date of the season. However, their relationship fizzled out, and Sean eventually sent her home. She later appeared on Bachelor in Paradise seasons 1 and 3. Sarah made history on The Bachelor as the first contestant with a physical disability. She was born with Amniotic Band Syndrome, and has one arm.
After her time with the Bachelor franchise, Sarah began dating Dylan. They got engaged in May 15, 2021 after four years of dating. Sarah has been very open about her fertility journey. She shared that she and Dylan started trying to conceive naturally in 2020, but, after seven months, they had fertility testing done. The tests confirmed that Sarah had Diminished Ovarian Reserve. The couple decided that they would try IVF in order to have their baby.
In an interview with Us Weekly, Sarah revealed that she and Dylan are expecting a baby boy in May 2023. She is seven weeks pregnant and shared, “It’s very early still, and I know many families prefer to keep pregnancy private until after the first trimester, but I have shared my entire fertility journey since day one. One of the blessings of IVF is the support I have gained by being transparent about this process.” The former Bachelor in Paradise star explained that although she and Dylan are so happy about the baby, they are “protecting” their hearts because they are still in the first trimester. She admitted that it is “overwhelming to think about.” Although they are “excited and hopeful” for the near future, they also realize that they have “a long road ahead of us.” Sarah said that she is most looking forward to “the changing perspectives and appreciation I will have for my body.” She admitted that, as someone was has struggled with body image, she knows with certainty that “this area of change will be difficult for me, but I feel safe and prepared for what lies ahead!”
Sarah’s Fiancé Dylan Was The Bachelor Nation Star’s Rock
The Bachelor in Paradise alum gave credit to Dylan for supporting her through their journey to become parents. She said that she is grateful to have a partner who has been “so supportive and gentle through this whole process. Dylan has been an incredible rock and is strong for both of us when it has felt too heavy at times. He’s a rugged man, but so tender at heart.” Sarah went on to say that her and Dylan’s wedding plans are currently on hold. They feel they that have enough on their plates, and will start wedding planning again once their baby is here. Sarah explained, “The idea of our little baby getting to attend our wedding with mom and dad someday feels really beautiful to me, so we’ll wait until that day is right.”
Since her days on The Bachelor and Bachelor in Paradise, Sarah has been open about her experiences with her disability, and later, her fertility. Her willingness to share these intimate parts of her life have helped countless others who are in similar situations. As Sarah and Dylan begin their journey as parents, fans wish them good health and happiness.
